A UNESCO protected World Heritage Site and an International Biosphere Reserve, the largest intact crater and also one of largest extinct crater in the world has a spectacular concentration of wildlife.
Tarangire National Park is reputed to contain some of the largest elephant herds in Africa Park and it’s also home to three rare species of animals – the Greater Kudu, the Fringed-eared Oryx, as well as a few Ashy Starlings
Your guide will pick you from airport or hotel, get briefing then depart to Tarangire National Park with lunch boxes, enjoy full day game drive in the park, in the afternoon have picnic lunch, then continue with game drive.
The park consists of natural vegetation mainly of Acacia woodland and giant African Baobab trees, with huge swamp areas in the south. Both the river and the swamps act like a magnet for wild animals, during Tanzania’s dry season. The Tarangire National Park is reputed to contain some of the largest elephant herds in Africa.
Other animals might be seen including Zebra, Wildebeest, Giraffes, dik dik, Impala, Eland, Grant Gazelles, olive baboon and some predators including lions, caracal and African Wild dog.

Supported by a year round water supply and fodder, the crater supports a vast variety of animals, which include herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, eland, warthog, hippo, and giant African elephants. Another unique feature in this conservation area is its huge population of predators, which include lions, hyenas, jackals and cheetahs.
After enjoying the variety of wildlife, you will be transferred to Kilimanjaro International Airport and return home, or continue your vacation on Zanzibar Island.
